A portion of the hospital that had been used for other purposes was remodeled to create a cancer treatment center. This was a challenging project because the available ceiling space was quite limited (15” typical). One of the ways to facilitate the installation of a new HVAC system in this area was to install a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system. The VRF system worked well because of its ability to conserve space and also because of its ability to conserve energy.
